Educational Requirements - Future Trends in Deployments and Technologies

Abstract

The principle objective of this work is to investigate the impact that future trends in technology and deployment scenarios have on the educational requirements of future military personnel. This report focuses on identifying HF problems specific to the selection, education and training of the person rather than interfaces with equipment. Education and training requirements can be established, by comparing the future work demands against the level of education and the physical and cognitive skills of currently serving military personnel. The gaps between the future skills demands and current educational capabilities are the emerging education and training requirements. This report investigates future context at scenario level. Future work is necessary to drill down into the scenarios and ascertain what the future personnel will be like and what tasks will be required.
