Clare Borras
Clare is a Human Factors Senior Consultant with over 14 years experience in Human Factors and
Human Factors Integration and the design of pragmatic innovative task-based systems. Experience
has been gained through both consultancy and research environments within the Broadcast domain:
NDS Ltd and Sony BPE. The Nuclear domain: Synergy Consultants and Nuclear Electric Ltd as well
as Defence whilst working for SEA since 2002.
Clare is especially interested in culture and has undertaken work for the HFI DTC and separately for SEA with a focus on the range of cultural issues facing decision makers in-theatre and Intelligence support. Other work has covered the development of submarine communications systems, HFI and HF standards and guidance and exploring novel approaches to information navigation. Working at DE&S Abbey Wood as a member of the Joint Human Factors Integration Team (JHFIT) Clare has developed an awareness of Defence processes and ways of working which supports the exploitation HFI DTC research back into MoD.
