Paul Salmon - BSc, MSc

Dr Paul Salmon is a Human Factors Research Fellow within the Ergonomics Research Group at Brunel University and holds a BSc in Sports Science, an MSc in Applied Ergonomics (both from the University of Sunderland) and a PhD in Human Factors (from Brunel University). Paul has over seven years experience of applied human factors research in a number of domains, including the military, energy distribution, aviation, road and rail transport domains. This has led to Paul gaining expertise in a broad range of areas, including situation awareness, human error, teamwork and the development and application of human factors methods.

Paul's current research interests include distributed situation awareness (theory and measurement) in complex collaborative systems, multi-agency interoperability, human error, and the application of human factors methods in sport. Paul has authored and co-authored various peer reviewed journal articles, conference articles, book chapters and books and was recently awarded the 2006 Royal Aeronautical Society Hodgson Prize for a co-authored paper in the society's Aeronautical journal.
